Reasons You Might Choose Semi-Permanent Retail Displays

You are probably familiar with permanent displays that are used in retail locations for a year or more, as well as temporary displays that are intended for short-term use to promote a new product or display a seasonal or promotional item. But what if you have a product that you need to display for an intermediate amount of time, somewhere in the range of about 3 to 9 months? You don’t want to spend money on a permanent display that will only be used for a relatively short amount of time, but you also know that a corrugated temporary display won’t look good for that long and will need to be replaced. This is where semi-permanent retail displays demonstrate their usefulness in the retail environment.

Semi-permanent retail displays are generally expected to last 6 months or so and help keep products organized and easy to reach by potential buyers. They help generate a quality sales volume of the product while in use, allow for product replenishment and need to be priced so that they are a reasonable per-unit investment. Here are some of the most common materials used to construct semi-permanent retail displays:

  • Wood
  • Metal
  • Styrene
  • Glass
  • Acrylic
  • Co-polyester
  • Durable corrugate (cardboard)

These displays are sometimes called secondary displays or off-shelf displays and can be designed to hold several different products that your company produces, which can reduce replacement costs. Because the displays use higher-quality materials and are more expensive than temporary displays, they are usually used for more expensive products.
