You’re eager to get on board with us at d3 and start designing your custom permanent displays. But if you don’t know who you’re trying to target in a retail environment, you’re going to have to figure out who your customers are before we move forward. Here are some guidelines for homing in on who you’re selling to before creating custom permanent displays:
- Who is your current customer base? Look at who your current customer base is and figure out why they buy from you. You also need to look at who brings you the most business overall because this is the group your custom permanent displays should be primarily catered to.
- Take a look at your competition. Who are your competitors’ current customers and who are they targeting? Looking at what your competition is doing can give you greater insight into who should be buying from you.
- Choose specific demographics. The more specific you are with identifying your customer base, the better. Don’t just say, for example, you’re trying to sell to stay-at-home moms or teenagers. Instead, look at identifying factors like age, location, income level, education level, marital or family status, and gender for the best results.
- Consider psychographics. When it comes to figuring out your customer base, psychographics are arguably more important than someone’s personal characteristics. Consider the lifestyles, behaviours, values, attitudes, and personalities of the customers most likely to show interest in your brand.
